PROFESSIONAL
SERVICES
Staffed
with a team of professionals representing many areas of technical
expertise, EDC has undertaken full project planning and design in
Malaysia and Singapore. Our expertise in environmental concept design
and the successful integration of architecture and engineering structures
into the natural landscape has been accomplished through our sensitive
approach of detailed landscape planning.
EDC’s approach is to minimise the impact of large architecture and
engineering structures on our diminishing natural resources. Its
aim is to provide services on the highest professional standards
resulting in maximum benefits to the clients.
The practice has undertaken a wide range of projects in the field
of landscape design, urban design , recreational resorts, highway
and utility landscapes, institutional and public recreational development
projects.
CONTRACT IMPLEMENTATION
Where the need is indicated,
EDC is also able to provide contract implementation of planting
and landscape construction. This is especially important where materials
and qualified technical personnel are not readily available. Contract
implementation includes :-
1.] Superintendence of landscape installation
2.] Plant materials growing and procurement
3.] Maintenance
Contract implementation is highly recommended, since a detailed
drawing plan is only a guide. Moreover, crucial design decisions
often have to be made on site due to certain site factors, which
can achieve certain outstanding results.
In addition to our design and contract supervision service, we also
provide professional advice on landscape management. This service
is particularly useful to government organizations and private developers
who wish to carry out landscape implementation works using their
own labour and resources. Our landscape management services include
design, erection and management of plant nurseries, installation
of irrigation systems, implementation of landscaping projects and
staff training .
PROFESSIONAL
FEES
Landscape architecture fees are computed individually for each project
structure. For most projects, a lump sum fee is preferable and is
carefully computed according to the projected scope of works on
the basis of man-month inputs.
Tentative preliminary fee proposals will be readily furnished upon
receipt of available site surveys, site photographs or preliminary
site plans and programmes along with a general description of the
scope of services sought. Preliminary fee proposals include professional
fees, reimbursable items of travel, accommodation and other items,
which are subject to further negotiation and adjustments.
Progress professional service billings and payments are generally
scheduled to coincide with the stages of works :-
1.] Initial site surveys and concept plans
2.] Master site plan and landscape design plans
3.] Construction drawings and specifications
4.] Construction coordination
